RECYCLING BINS - AT HOMEOWNERS BLDG. AND PALMANOVA PLAZA
We are happy to announce that two textile clothing recycling bins have been placed at Palmas del Mar. One at Palmas Homeowners building and the other at Palmanova Plaza. Every year in Puerto Rico 40 million pounds of clothing and textiles reach the landfills. That is why its important to rescue these resources which are exported to countries where needed, turned into wiping rags or polishing cloths or is converted into fiber for different purposes or uses.
Here is a list of textiles that can be recycled:
Clothing and evening dresses
Shoes (heels, sneakers, sandals, boots)
Hats, caps and sunhats
Pijamas and socks
Coats, scarfs and gloves
Bed sheets, bedspreads and pillowcases
Curtains and cushions
Tablecloths, rugs, mats and table napkins
Kitchen, bath and beach towels
Stuffed animals or plush toys (not plastic)
Important note: All recyclable items must be clean, dry and placed in a bag to protect them from any type of contamination. Bins will be available 24/7.
